Historic Lynn Shore Drive...
Over the past several years, The Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach researched the history and biology of the area and drafted initial versions of the signs. The Friends then worked with DCR staff members to finalize the content and design.
“These new signs are an excellent contribution to the public’s understanding and appreciation of this lovely stretch of coastline,” said DCR Commissioner Richard K. Sullivan Jr. “This has been a wonderful partnership with the Friends of Lynn Nahant Beach, and we at DCR are grateful for their commitment and support.”
The signs include “History of Red Rock” at Red Rock Park, “History of Egg Rock” at Woodbury Point, “History of Lynn Shore Drive” on the Lynn Shore Drive sidewalk, and “History of Lynn Beach Painters” at the Lynn-Swampscott line.
